Are you looking for a floor that is durable and stylish? Does that have a great look to it? Then take a look at luxury vinyl flooring. You'll like it so much because it can go in every room in your house.

Two types of luxury vinyl

Luxury vinyl comes in two types: plank and tile. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) comes in a wood-look format with long strips of varying widths, depending on your choice. LVP is flexible and can mold itself to the subfloor, so you'll want to take care of any imperfections in the subfloor before putting down LVP.

The luxury vinyl tile (LVT) comes in a different form; it is in the shape of a tile of differing sizes and is more rigid and firm than the LVP. It’s made of the same material as LVP. It usually goes in the bathroom or kitchen, or laundry room. LVT is compelling in looks, and at first sight, you may not be able to tell it apart from ceramic tile. You can also have grout put in to enhance the visuals of the tile.

Luxury vinyl has a design layer, which is the layer that the picture is on, but it’s a three-dimensional picture, so it has depth. If something were to gouge the floor, you wouldn't be able to tell because of the depth of the image. The pictures represent what you want them to: detailed wood with all its grains, knots, whorls, and curls; stone or tile with its veins and gravel. The flooring is usually embossed and micro-beveled to give it an aged look if you want.

LVT and LVP are both waterproof. This is due to the construction layers of PVC that comprise the core. PVC is a standard construction material that is entirely resistant to water. So the LVT and LVP won't curl, warp, or peel when exposed to water for extended periods.
